Clackamas DUI Accident Attorney
Holding Drunk Drivers Accountable for Causing Injuries
Driving while intoxicated is one of the most dangerous activities a person can engage in. Yet, getting behind the wheel while drunk or high remains a common occurrence. In 2017 alone, 112 of the 439 reported traffic fatalities in Oregon that year were caused by a driver who had a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.08% or above, which is the legal limit. Fatalities are a common consequence of DUI accidents. However, even those lucky enough to escape with their lives are usually forced to deal with painful if not permanent injuries.
At The Callahan Law Office, our Clackamas DUI accident attorney and legal team are dedicated to protecting accident victims and holding reckless drivers responsible for their negligent actions. If you need help receiving the fair and just compensation you deserve following a DUI accident in the Portland area, you can count us to provide you the personalized care and representation you require.

Oregon Drunk Driving Laws
Oregon’s current DUI law prohibits the following while driving:
- A BAC of 0.08% or higher
- Being under the influence of cannabis or other illegal, prescription, or over-the-counter drug
- Having any alcohol in one’s system if under 21 years of age
A DUI arrest will normally result in a license suspension of one or more years and a fine even if the perpetrator is not convicted in criminal court. If the offender is eventually convicted of DUI, criminal penalties will be imposed in addition to administrative consequences.
If a personal injury claim is involved, the drunk driver and/or their insurance company can be held responsible for paying any damages you have suffered related to the accident.
What Damages Are Available in a DUI Accident Case?
If you have been injured in an accident that wasn’t your fault, you are entitled to receive compensation that will cover your accident-related expenses.
You may be able to receive compensation for:

- Medical equipment or retrofitting (in case of permanent injury, for instance)
